My Place of Destiny
“Be prepared. You're up against far more than you can handle on your own. Take all the help you can get, every weapon God has issued, so that when it's all over but the shouting you'll still be on your feet.” (Ephesians 6:13, The Message Bible).
There is a land called the place of destiny, it’s not commonly found. It Is the place where golden eggs are laid. Men(male and female, as referred to in Bible) usually do not just stumble into it because it is found by seekers. It is a place where a man is finally adorned and crowned for all work that he or she has done so far.
A journey made into the place of destiny is often not with a road map. Nobody ever woke up and gets a map drawn to tell him how he’s gonna move in life from cradle till adulthood and where or how to succeed. Rather, men who are seekers dig and strive, and keep doing that until they find that which they seek.
Treasures are only found in hidden places.
Men who reach heights do not sleep when others are, they sweat, skip meals and deny themselves several comforts till they achieve that which they seek. They pay the prices of the glory they seek. Diligence has a price, but the reward of diligence is glory.
What do you see?!
What picture has the Lord painted in your heart?
Don’t get tired now of running, run till you achieve that which you seek, and keep running till all He has in mind becomes fulfilled. The race is meant for you alone, so don’t get disheartened when nobody else joins you.
My Place of Destiny
A poem by Mary Adelakun
Don't look at my pain today, it is the investment for the glory that I seek.
My bones may ache and my flesh fade but it's the price that I must pay.
My heels may crack and my shoes peel but they are only symbols of the victory ahead.
Survival may be hard today, with me spending every kobo on things I need but don't mock me yet for what I see, you do not see.
My eyes go in deep from nights when I remained awake and burned the midnight candles of success, capturing every line that I could find, straining till I fell asleep from the heaviness—There is a place of glory that I must reach.
I do not know what the best movie is in the cinema but I can tell you stories from the pictures of glory that I have seen.
When nobody else saw or none was ready to believe, I heard the calls of destiny from within, the still small voice that beckoned and told me that I could only hear Him because the beats of destiny were not meant for passersby but men of destiny.
Tears poured on days when I felt void of hopes, days when all I saw was nothing but emptiness, sometimes I wonder how come blank papers could tell me that words were hidden and riddles needed to be cracked for me to attain.
Then I knew, the emptiness was not empty but contained lines that only I could put together, for me to join as I ventured into the lands of destiny.
What I see you do not see, so, don't blame me when you see me pine.
There is a place of destiny that I must reach, hence, I must pay this price.
