Commitment for Continuity: Third Edition

Let me stay useful
"If a man, therefore, purge himself from these, he shall be a vessel unto honor, sanctified, and meet for the master's use, and prepared unto every good work." 2 Timothy 2:21 (KJV)
Today we will be praying for the grace to remain useful to God for His divine and eternal purpose because we were all created for Gods pleasure, Revelation 4:11 says “Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honor and power: for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure, they are and were created.” We need to yearn to remain in the purpose for which God created us, that is to be His pleasure.
One way we can remain pleasing to God is to be useful for Him, I believe it definitely pleases God if we are useful for Him as He works out and reveals His grand plan and purpose for all of creation. Apart from the fact that being useful for God means we are pleasing Him, it also means that we are fulfilling His purpose for creating us, it means we will have peace in our spirits as we are doing what God wants us to be doing, and not just what we want or deem to be the right things to do. Often when God uses us, He does so in ways that mean we will be a blessing to other people, this is a special kind of worship that we may not have the opportunity to give to God if we were not being used by God Himself for His own purpose (basically God helping us to worship Him acceptably — Glory to God!). There is a fulfillment and joy that comes with this that only God can give.
For us to be useful for God, we need to meet a certain criterion — being His child, not by professing to be His child alone, but by being pure indeed — we need to behave like the real children of God that we are by purging ourselves from all unrighteous acts, as we see from our anchor bible passage, it is only those that have purged themselves from acts that do not please God that will be sanctified, qualified and prepared for good works by God Himself, so our prayers today will be in two parts, first, we will pray for the grace to purge ourselves, and then we will pray for the grace to remain useful to God.
Let us pray:
Father, we thank you for the grace to be Your children and for the purpose, You have called us into, we thank you Lord for the salvation of our souls and for preserving us in you.
Lord, please give us the grace to live a pure and holy life for Your glory, please help us to purge ourselves from all the actions and thoughts that do not glorify Your name, we know we cannot do this by our strength, that is why we are asking by Your mercy to please help us in the Name of Jesus Christ.
Please Lord, make us a pure vessel, sanctify us, qualify us by Your mercy, not by our works or strength, but by your grace and prepare us for your use. Use us to establish Your will and purpose here on earth as it is in Heaven. Please use us to accomplish Your plan for all of creation, please use us to bless the lives of many people far and near.
In the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, we pray.
Amen!!!
