Be Still In Waiting
"And Moses said to the people, “Do not be afraid. Stand still, and see the salvation of the Lord, which He will accomplish for you today. For the Egyptians whom you see today, you shall see again no more forever." Exodus 14:13 (NKJV)
To be still means to stay and allow God to do what He wants to do concerning a situation. We children of God sometimes do not know how we can allow God to do His things in His way, we either have our idea of things or we want to interfere in the process that God has chosen. However, our God is the Almighty, and He is perfect in all of His ways.
In our passage, the Israelites thought they were stranded, but God gave them a victory they could not have been able to get for themselves. This happened because they “waited” for God to do what He wanted to do. This tells us that while we stay still in waiting, God will also instruct us if we may need to act in any situation.
Waiting and doing nothing may look like a weakness for a person, but it shows that we have faith in God; it show’s that we believe He will come through, and when He instructs us, we will follow. Staying still this way will avail us of the immense power of waiting for the will of God.
Let us pray:
Father, I thank You because You have never failed and You will never fail.
Father, please give me the grace to trust Your processes and always realize in all situations that Your ways are higher than my ways and that Your ways are perfect.
Father, please help me so that my faith in You will increase and I will have no doubt about Your intentions or Your ability to take me to a place where I will become all You have created me to be.
Father, please help me to surrender all of my desires that are not Your perfect will for me, so that I will not resist or reject Your purpose for my life. Please help me so that I will not try to live my life based on my ideas alone but on Your perfect will as You help me.
In Jesus' name, I pray.
Amen!!!
