Your Hands: In Worship
“Who may climb the mountain of the Lord? Who may stand in his holy place? Only those whose hands and hearts are pure, who do not worship idols and never tell lies” (Psalms 24:3-4 NLT).
Worship is an expression of praise and honor to God from the depths of our hearts. God wants His children to worship Him, but there are requirements. It has to be in the Spirit, it has to be in truth, and it has to be with clean hands and a pure heart, see John 4:23-24.
What does it mean to have clean hands?
A clean hand is a hand that has been dedicated to the honor of God, never to be used to fulfill the lust of the flesh. Here the hand is symbolic, it literarily means our actions. So you could say a person who has clean hands is someone that seeks to please God in all their actions.
Today we will be praying for the grace to act righteous and to live righteous in the perverse world.
Let’s pray:
Father, we thank You for Your love and kindness, we thank You because it is Your will that we worship You in spirit and truth. We thank you Father for making us able to come before Your presence to worship and to pray, we give You the glory because all of this is possible only by Your mercy.
Father, please give us the grace to worship You always and to worship You acceptably, we need the grace to be pure and holy for You so that our worship will be acceptable to You.
Father, You are of purer eyes and You cannot behold iniquity, please give us the grace to live above sin and iniquities and for Your glory alone.
In the name of our Savior and Lord Jesus Christ we ask.
Amen!!!
