Your Sight: Seeing With The Eyes of God
"For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them" (Ephesians 2:10, KJV).
You’re welcome to another episode of When People Pray.
Today we will be discussing how to see with the eyes of God. God is the Creator of all things, and He has a purpose for everything and every person he made. From our anchor verse today, we see that God created us unto good works, we also saw last week that God created us to give us a future and hope. So we are sure that there is no one made or born by mistake. In fact, there is nothing that exists or existed by mistake, all things were made for a purpose. Ephesians 1:11 tells us “In whom also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestinated according to the purpose of him who worketh all things after the counsel of His own will” (KJV). Here we see that not only did God create all things and everyone for His purpose, but also, he works everything according to the counsel of His will.
From all we’ve seen so far, it becomes obvious that God is in full control of things in this realm, it may not appear so to the ordinary human eye or mind, but we have seen it from the scriptures. Seeing with the eyes of God means looking at the things and events of this word the way God sees them. For example, your opinion of who you are will be different if you see yourself from the perspective of the situations you are in or if you see yourself the way other people see you, but the perfectly accurate way to see yourself is to see yourself according to the way God — your Creator sees you. In Judges 6:12, an angel of God called Gideon a mighty man of valor, but it did not even remotely look like reality to Gideon because of His situation. He was overwhelmed by the circumstances that it was quite unbelievable for Him to see who God has made Him. But as we read on in chapter 7 we see Gideon being an actual man of valor. Gideon could only ever be a mighty man of valor because that is what God has made him, but he did not always know this.
How can we see the way God sees us?
The only way to see how God sees us is — as we read last week; to see through the Word of God. We were created by the Word of God and it is through the word of God that we can know what we were created to be because it is by the word of God that we get all we need to become what God has purposed us to be, see Joshua 1:8, Acts 20:32.
Do you know what God says concerning you?
Do you want to be all God has created you to be?
Are you aware that you are not defined by your situation but by the word of God?
Spend more time studying and meditating on the Word of God and you will see how God will make you into the masterpiece he has designed you to be, revealing to you His ultimate plan and purpose for your life and describing to you what and who you really are.
If you are not yet in the fold of Jesus Christ, and you want to fulfill your divine purpose on earth, the first step you need to take before studying the Word of God is to accept Jesus Christ as your savior — he died for our sins so that we will be able to approach God the Father as His children without the guilt for sin (because it has been paid for by Jesus Christ). Tell Jesus to come into your heart to reign as King and tell him that you accept Him as your Lord and Saviour. Ask Him to wash you with His blood and make you a child of God.
I congratulate you if you said this prayer because you are now a child of God and you’re set to take your place in destiny!
Let us pray
Father, we thank you because You love us. We thank You because Your thoughts for us are thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give us hope and a future in You.
We thank You because You never leave or forsake us. We also thank You Father because You have given us Your Word to guide us, lead us, teach us and reveal to us Your eternal plan and thoughts for us.
Please, Father, help us to live according to Your expectation for our lives — nothing short of that by any measure, please help us to live the fullness of Your will for our lives.
Father please also, help us to see ourselves and others the way You see us, any other sight apart from this is inaccurate, please give us an accurate opinion of ourselves, other people, and the world, that is in accordance with Your own opinion and views.
Thank You Father because we know you hear us when we pray.
In the name of Jesus Christ, we pray.
Amen!!!
