Peace In Light
1 Kings 19:12 “After the earthquake came a fire, but the Lord was not in the fire. And after the fire came a gentle whisper.”
- The light of God doesn’t just give directions, it’s solace and rest in times of chaos.
Sometimes, the world may throw many storms, and your spirit man becomes disquieted, the light of God can infiltrate every noise and chaos—bringing the spirit of a man to rest.
The Spirit of the Lord is light, He gives peace to troubled souls and quiets storms. He is the storm-stiller.
Elijah knew the difference between the chaotic noises and the still small voice of God. The moment He heard His voice, there was quietness and tranquility, every other thing had to give way. There is a clear difference between the voice of men and that of God. Irrespective of the noise, God’s voice always overshadows every other voice.
Even when God chooses to speak with a still small voice, His voice silences all noises and He sounds louder than all. In His quietness, He is still loud. He doesn’t have to shout, His voice overshadows every other voice.
- Light also casts out all fears.
Every noise brings along terror but when the light comes, there is stillness and comfort. Light eradicates terror and restores hope and courage to go forward.
- Light propels.
When the dark clouds want to draw you back, the light of God illuminates your spirit and serves as a propeller.
- Light halts the enemies operations.
The moments lights come in demons take to flight, serpents run for cover. All evil operations stop and there is sudden stillness.
The peace factor in light is great indeed. It dispels all evil forces and restores our joy, bringing us to rest.
Times when my spirit becomes disquieted, I simply call the Holy Spirit and ask Him to make me more aware of His presence. When He does that, every negative air is dispelled.
Sometimes the peace I need is help to forgive or dispel anger regarding something that hurt me. When it seems like it is difficult to let go of that pain, I surrender to the Holy Ghost for help. When He comes in to help, He helps me dispel the pain, stress, and anger —letting out the negative air like a balloon.
Yours might be another case of hurt, perhaps a very deep hurt. When you invite the light of God today, He will help you release those hurt and lighten the burden of your heart. Or maybe yours is a case of grief, the light of God is comfort. You might be having a chaotic home, marriage, or whatever, but the light of God is the peace you need.
Ask for help tonight.
John 1:5 “The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.”
